I started to really like Risako when the PV for Munasawagi Scarlet came out. If I can remember correctly, that’s about time she started to wear more makeup and be promoted like crazy. Risako really is one of the most beautiful girls of H!P in my opinion, and although her voice is a little rough around the edges, I enjoy her lines in every Berryz song. I am 98% sure of all of my predictions about her, like: she’s going to eventually produce PB’s at the same rate as Takahashi Ai and Ishikawa Rika, and a group is eventually going to be made around her, similar to how V-u-den was made for Ishikawa. Risako’s stage presence is not very strong, but she makes up for anything she can’t do well with her appearance.

I’m wouldn’t say that Risako’s extremely pretty. I’ll give you the cold sad truth. Risako is an average looking girl that has way too much makeup on and takes too many overly sexed up pictures. Her personality is not akward. She is a total brat. She radiates the phrase, “Ha! I am beautiful and middle age men swoon over me! I can have anything I want! I am better than all of you.” She may not have stage presence but she has an ego bigger than Airi Suzuki’s. I’ve seen pictures of her with her stomach hanging out and acne on her face. Pretty? No. Talented? In no such manner. In almost every recent performance (there are exceptions) there is a back track to help little miss Sugaya and the other berries if they slip up. You are probably right about the mass production of photobooks though. Unless she gains more weight than she has already. Her arm size compared to the other Berries is scary.

Many people seem to be arguing about Risako this way. She DOES wear a lot of makeup, and she DOES look like a cold-hearted asshole sometimes, but overall, she is obviously extremely valued, even if her appearance is artificial. Admittedly, I wouldn’t know if she is a total brat, but judging from all of the times I’ve seen her, she seems like a normal, giggling, awkward teenager.
It may be true that her popularity has inflated her head to the size of a watermelon, and it may also be true that she is 100% touched up in pictures/pvs and looks like a hog in real life, but the finished product that is RISAKO is undeniably aesthetically appealing.
I do agree that she is fat though.

I do agree that she’s become a bit of a snob, well maybe not a snob. I think that her popularity is just going to her head a little bit. Plus her agency is probably making her try to radiate confidence or just fake it. Do idol hungry fans really want to worship at a shaking, nervous wreck who can barely introduce herself without stuttering? They want someone who will appear perfect, that’s all people want these days and to me it’s kinda sad. Risako has gained a lot of weight recently. I wonder if the stress is getting to her because I noticed that she started getting heavier shortly after she started modeling for pichi lemon. Risa is a good soul deep down. Just look at her earliest videos, the ones before Tsunku decided that she was the unquestioned it girl of berryz koubou. She was really sweet back then and I hope that she realizes what these people are doing to her image. She has a beautiful, feminine face. She’s a mix of Kago Ai, Ayaya, and someone else . . .
